Updates

Well, Jilly's getting really big. Here's a new picture of her. She's really smart and a bit of a brat. She learned how to fetch in three tries. She loves to play tug of war and she loves the grass. She weighed three pounds at her last vet appointment and she will go in on Wednesday for her next one. I doubt she'll weight more than four pounds. She is eating Hill's Science Diet and loves it. She adapted to it rather quickly and she has never gotten an upset stomach from it. She was able to eat it easily without being softened.

Bobby is getting sicker. He is having at least one seizure a week, sometimes less. I am switching him to a prescription dog food on Monday. Both he and Oscar love Jilly's puppy food and it's hard keeping them out of it. So, hopefully they will both adapt well and it will be the end of Bobby's seizures. Here is a picture of him out camping. Bobby really doesn't like Jilly, but he's getting used to her.

Oscar is doing great. He is happy, healthy and losing weight. He and Bob are going in for Kennel Cough shots soon and will both be eating some new food. Oscar doesn't like Jilly much, but he's beginning to play with her a little. He's afraid he'll get in trouble for playing, but he tries, making sure to watch and see if I'm going to yell at him. I want him to play with her, but gently, which he is, so she'll learn how to play with other dogs. Anyway, the best picture I have of Oscar is already on here, so I'm not loading a new one.

Jilly slept

Yesterday, Jilly had a very busy day. She went to TOPS with me, and everyone there had to pass her around, plus she was played with a lot throughout the day. She didn't get to take as many naps as normal and she slept for nearly 10 hours last night. In fact, I woke up before she did. I thought she may have pottied in her kennel, but she didn't. She went potty at 10:30, we all went to sleep and we all woke up around 8:15. I couldn't believe it!! She's also been sleeping around 6 1\2 hours. She woke up yesterday around 7:30. She's doing really well. She has most of her teeth and she's really starting to play a lot. She barked at Oscar today and she has a really deep bark. She's so cute and so sweet. She loves being in your face. I think she is less intimidated when she is on your level.

New photos of Jilly

Here are some new photos of Jilly. She was playing outside in the grass for the first time. Bob would run over her in his excitement over the ball and she would come running to me to "tattle." It was very cute.

Jilly's home

My little Jilly came home on Wednesday. She is six weeks old, which is young, but Missy hasn't really been a great mommy, so she is emotionally ready to leave. She's feeling a little lonely, after all she has five siblings, so I'm going to take her over to Bonnie's for a while tonight to play with her sibs. She's eating well, she drinks water, and she sleeps and plays. She's only had a couple of accidents, but she's doing well in that aspect too. I bought her some puppy pads today and will use those to aid in the potty training. She's very adorable.
Last night she woke me up three times, at three, five and six. She wouldn't go back to sleep at six, so I put her in bed with me. She gave me some kisses, then fell asleep on my face. She's so cute. Bob and Oscar are very leary around her. Bob doesn't like her because she likes his ball. But they'll warm up to her as she grows. She's still only about 2 pounds. Very adorable.

Daddy's little girl

Jillian Anna will be joining our household on Friday. She will be coming home after I get off work. This is really good because I will have a couple of extra weeks to work with her on potty training before I go back to school. Plus I am really, really excited. Here are some new photos of her .........

Daddy

Bobby's going to be a daddy again. A lady here in town has a little brown and white dog who came into heat this week. She called around to all the groomers and I was the only one they found. The second they saw Bobby, they fell in love. He has the same facial features as their girl, Jasmine, and they are the same size. They will make beautiful babies. He is over there right now trying to do his job, but she doesn't know him, so it may take most of the day.
Jilly is getting big. She's an adorable thing. She's beginning to play with her sisters and brother. I have a video on my myspace page if you want to see them playing. www.myspace.com/collegelady30

Jilly

I haven't been able to go over and see Jilly in about a week. I've been out of town, but her eyes opened last Wednesday. That was exactly two weeks. Her entire litter opened on Wednesday. They were all about 3-4 days early, the other litter had just opened their little eyes a couple days prior. I should be able to see Jilly on Thursday and I'll take some new photos. She'll be three weeks old tomorrow. If she keeps going at this rate, I may be able to bring her home in just 4 more weeks. :)

Pictures of Jilly

Here are some pictures of my new baby and one of Bob's offspring, Jilly.

They're here!!

Missy's puppies were born on July 11. She had six. All females but one. Three are black and white, two are black and one is super dark brown, almost black. Missy has a little red or brown coloring in her fur, so all of the puppies have a red or brown highlight. They are very tiny and very adorable. They all seem to have daddy's tongue, they hang out just a little.
Two of the puppies, Black and Whites, were twins, born in the same sack. One boy, one girl. I am taking the girl, Jilly. I will post some pictures this evening. She is soooo adorable.

Bobby's a Daddy!!

Missy is definitely pregnant. My sister-in-law took Missy in for an ultrasound and they discovered at least 5 puppies. :) So Bob did his job very well. Her other female Tamika is pregnant as well, but they only found 2 puppies. This is her second litter and her first litter was 3. Yeah Bob!!!

Bob's gettin' busy!!

My sister-in-law's second female, Missy, is in heat, but her male, Wilbur, won't even look in her direction. He's obsessed with the other female, Tamika. My sister-in-law saw one of Bob's puppies a while back and it was tiny, about 7 pounds. So she decided Bob would be good for Missy. So now I have Missy for a couple weeks and Bob has forgotten about the ball.....

The problem is solved!!!

Bob is no longer having seizures. I have discovered that his body doesn't process canned dog food. He hasn't been on it, simply because I can't afford it and he hasn't had any seizures. So Bob's in good shape now!!!!
My sister-in-law's dog is in heat. Her second female should be in heat soon. I'm supposed to get one from the second female because the puppies should look similar to Bob and I would like to breed him once or twice before I have to put him to sleep. We'll see. My sister-in-law doesn't always keep her word.

New Addition

Well, we have a new addition to the family. My brother had a dog, Oscar, who is about the same age as Bob, 6, and Oscar wasn't happy. So, they decided it was time for Oscar to go to someone else's house. They asked me over and over and over again, but I really want a puppy and I said no. But Bob had a really bad seizure last week (2 hours), and so my parents said go ahead and take Oscar. So, I took Oscar. Bob thought he was a girl for several days (he still does, but not as often). Oscar is overweight. My sister-in-law was feeding him puppy chow because he wouldn't eat adult dog food after she bought all her puppies. So, he's back on adult dog food, and should start losing weight quickly. He also is more active because he has to walk back and forth between my house and my parents'. And he plays a lot more. He was getting mean over at my brother's house. He was biting people (he didn't hurt anyone, but still), and growling at the puppies, and over-all depressed. He's a lot happier now. He misses his family, but he gets to see them, and he seems to be adapting well. Anyway, I may still get a puppy, who knows when, but for now I have Bob and Oscar.
I'll publish some pictures of Oscar soon.

Bob's silly

So, last week I had Bob groomed. He was so pretty, soft and shiny. But my nephew took him outside to play ball yesterday and instead of playing with him in the grass, where he'll stay clean, he played with him in the dirt. He was no longer black and white, he was more black and brown. So, I had to give him a bath last night. But I bought some grooming stuff through Petco, so I got to use it. I bought some oatmeal shampoo at Walmart, and I love it. So here's what I bought. 8-in-1 oatmeal shampoo. 8-in-1 conditioner. Tea tree oil ear cleaner. And Dog Gold leave in spray conditioner detangler (smells very strongly of lilac, but smells like the real flower, not a chemical reproduction). I gave him a bath with all of these last night and he smells good, his coat is really shiny and soft.
Anyway, check out Petco.com. They have some pretty good products and most things are on sale. Shipping isn't too bad either.

Bob's Week

Bob had an eventful week. On Thursday, he went to the groomer's. He is so cute. I tried taking a picture, but my camera won't take a really good one. Then on Friday, he went and got shot. He got a rabies shot and Kennel Cough and Distemper. So he's all shot up. I really like his new vet. She's pretty nice, willing to talk to me. The last guy we went to was quick, and Bob really didn't like him. I had to carry Bob into his office, which always smelled like bleach. And this new place doesn't smell like Bleach and Bob walked right in. He even peed on the reception desk. Nice. Very embarrassing. I'm glad I found a nice vet. Plus, they didn't charge me for an office visit just for shots.
Ciao!

Food Stuff

Bob has been switched to a new food. I sort of determined that he might be allergic to chicken. It seemed that anytime chicken was a part of his diet, he would get sick. So, I decided to try and find a wet dog food that doesn't have chicken in it. I had a very difficult time. The only wet food I could find was about $1.50 for a small can. Which is way more than I can afford on a college student's income. So, out of curiosity, I checked out the Moist and Meaty from Purina. It doesn't contain chicken! So I bought some and he loves it. Bonus! It's about $4 for 12 packages and he only eats 1/2 a pack a day. So, his food is very cheap now.
So after explaining all of that.... Bob is very upbeat since he switched. He's almost hyper. He is bouncy, more active, and more responsive. Before he slept a lot and was very lethargic.
So, I am very pleased with Bob's new diet and he's much happier too.

Very funny

My dad's doing a little remodeling in the house and my brother is helping him. Now, my brother has two males, three females, and now three puppies. Bob smelled those other dogs and marked my brother's jacket. Well, my bro was just a little miffed. So he took his coat home, hung it on a chair because he didn't have the time to wash it, and his two males made it theirs. Funny, huh.
Just to let you know, I probably won't post until next weekend. I go back to school tomorrow, and since it's the second week, they'll probably overload us with homework!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:)

Bob's new cousins!

My brother's dog had puppies last night. She had three, two girls and a boy. They are very cute. Shih Tzu. They are going to be brown, although it's still too early to tell exact coloring. Both parents are brown, although the male has a lot of white in him. The runt has a white blaze and a long strip of white down her chest. They all have a black strip along their backbone and a white strip down their chest. Each has a very thin strip of white down the back of each leg and the runt has a pink nose. They are very cute.
Bob obviously doesn't know about them, but he can smell dogs on me. So he's a little crazy. He finally stopped sniffing me. But he won't be able to go see his cousins for a while.
By the way, sorry it's been so long since my last post. I started school this week and so posts will most likely happen only on the weekends unless something really big happens.
Ciao!

Whining

Bob's been whining again. I think there's a little girl dog across the street that's in heat. She's been using our yard for an outhouse and Bob smells her. He's going nuts. Not even interested in the ball.
But otherwise, nothing much has happened. He hasn't had another seizure.
So, I thought I'd just update you.

Rude Awakenings

Bob decided he didn't want to sleep in this morning. About eight this morning, he started jumping on me, over me, around me, dragging himself over me, whining, yipping just a little, and overall being rather annoying. I guess he had to go potty.
So, we got up. I doodled around a bit with my blogs and went shopping with my mom. Then when I got home, I took a couple of pictures of Bob. Actually I think I took about 15, but only three turned out. My camera has a slight delay and he would move before it would beep. So, I had several pictures of the back of his head. Then I got the silly picture of him licking his nose, as well as the really nice picture next to the rock. I also got one other picture that was nice, but I didn't put it on here yet.
We'll try again tomorrow and see how Bob reacts.
Ciao!!!

Scare

Bob had another seizure today. It was reallly minor. He didn't have the muscle contractions. He was just really shaky. I guess I'm going to have to give him the blood tests.
I finally got a digital camera. I took a picture of Bob with my nephew Josh. Bob looks really big in the picture, but it's all hair. He has a grooming appointment in a couple of weeks and he'll be little again. He weighs about 10 pounds. Josh isn't very big, that's part of why Bob looks so big.
Ciao!

Bob was playing ball and since it was October, he got hot. So he was resting between ball games.

This is when I first got Bob. He was very skinny and not very healthy. But he looked so cute in his little red shirt.
